Terms of participation

Anyone aged 10 or over can take part. What counts is your age on tournament day, not on the day you register. Previous football experience is explicitly not required.

Taking part requires being physically fit for sporting activity. Each participant assesses this themselves; for under-18s, their parents or guardians do.

Registration is individual via this site, even if you are entering as a group. The team code is what links individual registrations into a team. A team holds at most 15 people; larger groups are split into two teams.

Registration closes on Thursday 3 September. The number of participants is limited. Once capacity is reached we put registrations on a waiting list and get in touch as soon as a place opens up.

Registering does not create an entitlement to take part. The organiser assigns teams, based on experience level so that the teams are balanced.

Taking part is free of charge. Catering, all equipment, the crash course and two tickets for the Gold Bowl on Sunday are included.

Travel and, where applicable, accommodation are arranged and paid for by each participant. Beyond the one free companion ticket, further stadium tickets can be booked at a charge; prices and how to book will be communicated separately.

We need a signed consent form from every participant. It is printed, signed and handed in at check-in. Without it, taking part is not possible.

For under-18s, the parent or guardian signs. Their consent also covers agreement to the named supervisor.

Every participant under 18 requires a named adult supervisor, agreed to by their parent or guardian. One person may supervise several children. The named person confirms their role in advance by email; without that confirmation, taking part on tournament day is not possible.

The supervisor can also be named after registering, via the link in the registration confirmation or, for teams, via the team page. Until the supervisor is named and confirmed, registrations of under-18s are accepted subject to those details.

At the stadium on Sunday, participants under 18 are accompanied by a parent. That role is independent of supervision on tournament day.

The format is flag football, five-on-five on grass. Flag football is non-contact: instead of tackling, a flag is pulled from the belt of the player carrying the ball. Tackling, blocking with body contact and similar actions are not permitted.

Equipment is provided; you may bring your own. Football cleats are recommended. Cleats with metal studs are not permitted, because they increase the risk of injury.

Instructions from the organiser, coaches, referees and helpers must be followed. In the case of seriously unsporting or dangerous conduct, the organiser may exclude participants from further play.

As long as the pitch is playable, we play — rain alone is not a reason to cancel. If the ground is closed or participant safety is at risk, the organiser may cancel, shorten or postpone the event. We will inform you by email as early as possible.

Changes to the schedule, times and tournament format are reserved. No claim to a refund arises, since taking part is free; costs you have paid yourself for travel or accommodation are not reimbursed.

Please let us know briefly if you cannot take part. An informal email is enough. Because taking part is free, every place that is not cancelled leaves a team short of players on tournament day.

Before the tournament we ask everyone registered for a short binding confirmation. Anyone who does not respond may be taken out of the team planning.

Participation is at your own risk. The organiser is liable without limitation for damage arising from injury to life, body or health caused by a breach of duty by the organiser or its agents, and for other damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. Otherwise liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

No liability is accepted for items you bring with you.

Insurance cover for participants on tournament day is provided through the organiser.

Photo, film and sound recordings are made during the event. Consent to this is obtained separately with the signed consent form and can be withdrawn at any time. Taking part is also possible without that consent.

On Sunday the operator’s stadium rules apply in addition. Sideline access and, where applicable, the stadium tour require a name list in advance; short-notice name changes are therefore only possible to a limited extent.
